How do I make an exchange?Updated 16 days ago

Would you like to exchange an item for a different size? Follow the steps below to complete your exchange.

How to make an exchange:

  1. Place a new order

    • If you want to exchange an item for a different size, place a new order with the correct size via our website.
    • We do not create a new order for you when we receive your return. You must place a new order yourself for the size or item you wish to receive.
    • Exchanges are only available for the same product in a different size.
    • If the product is out of stock, please register a return for a refund instead.
  2. Register your return

    • Visit our return page at shopunderstatement.com/returns to register your exchange/return.
    • Enter your original order number and email address to proceed.
  3. Follow the instructions

    • Once you have registered your exchange/return, you will receive an automated email with further instructions and your case number.
    • Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the email within a few minutes.
  4. Refund & discount adjustments

    • Once we have received and approved your returned items, you will be refunded to your original payment method.
    • If you had a discount on the item you are returning, it will be applied to your new order once we have processed your return.


Important Information About Exchanges & Returns

  • Free return shipping for exchanges

    • For exchanges, we cover the cost of return shipping, meaning you don’t pay anything to send back the item you want to exchange.
    • For standard returns(without an exchange), a return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund:
      • Within Sweden: 39 SEK.
      • Internationally: €4.99 - €10 depending on the country (Import duties are not covered by Understatement).
  • Returned items must be unused

    • Returns are only accepted if the items are in their original condition – unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags attached.
    • The right of withdrawal, return, or exchange does not apply if the product shows visible signs of use.
    • We reserve the right to refuse a refund if a returned item does not meet our return policy requirements.
  • Discounts & bundle pricing:

    • If you return an item that was part of a discounted bundle, the discount will be adjusted proportionally across all items in the bundle.
  • If you prefer to arrange your own return shipping:

    • If you choose to return the item using your own shipping method, you are responsible for the shipping costs.
    • Make sure to keep proof of return shipping until we confirm your refund.
