Would you like to exchange an item for a different size? Follow the steps below to complete your exchange.
How to make an exchange:
1. Register your return
- Visit our return page at shopunderstatement.com/returns to register your exchange/return.
- Enter your original order number and email address/zip code to proceed.
Please note:
- We do not accept returns for items that show signs of use, washing, or removed tags
- You can find more details in our Return Policy.
- We reserve the right to decline a refund if items show signs of wear, washing or use.
2. Receive your return label
- Once you have registered your exchange/return, you will receive an email with your return confirmation and a return shipping label.
- Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the email within a few minutes.
3. Send your parcel
- Print the shipping label or bring your QR code to your nearest postal drop-off point.
- Important for returns/exchanges from outside the EU: hand over the three copies of the commercial invoice directly to the postal service agent. Do not pack them inside the parcel.
3. Exchange process
- When your return arrives at our warehouse, we’ll inspect it and process your exchange.
- You’ll then receive an email with details to complete payment for the new shipping cost and any price difference (if applicable). Please double check your spam/junk folder so you do not miss this payment request.
- Once payment is confirmed, your new order will be prepared and shipped.
Important Information About Exchanges & Returns
Free return shipping for exchanges
- For exchanges, we cover the cost of return shipping, meaning you don’t pay anything to send back the item you want to exchange.
- For standard returns(without an exchange), a return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund:
- Within Sweden: 39 SEK.
- Internationally: €4.99 - €10 depending on the country (Import duties are not covered by Understatement).
Returned items must be unused
- Returns are only accepted if the items are in their original condition – unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags attached.
- The right of withdrawal, return, or exchange does not apply if the product shows visible signs of use.
- We reserve the right to refuse a refund if a returned item does not meet our return policy requirements.
Discounts & bundle pricing:
- If you return an item that was part of a discounted bundle, the discount will be adjusted proportionally across all items in the bundle.
If you prefer to arrange your own return shipping:
- If you choose to return the item using your own shipping method, you are responsible for the shipping costs.
- Make sure to keep proof of return shipping until we confirm your refund.
