However, period panties are a great eco-friendly choice compared to one-time-use products, such as tampons or pads. They last you just as long as any regular panties would which gives them an important environmental advantage. While tampons in rare cases can be associated with Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), there have not been any reported cases of TSS in association with the use of period panties.
